'Calla'. The plant form that inspired this 1.3m high, limestone, sculpture is echoed in the choice of planting in the garden of this courtyard.

The space that permeates this sculpture invites the viewer to inspect the work more closely and rewards the curious with long, flowing, internal forms.

I am still enjoying the coalescence of fineness and mass.

'Waters Flow' is a Wombeyan Marble sculpture based upon the maquette, 'Current'. We have built a niche into the wall that contains this sculpture above the pool .

'Portrait of Bishop Daniel Delany' is a commission for a Sydney College.

I created the original work in clay over a steel armature then moulded the work and cast it in silicone bronze.

Weighing 120kg and requiring a structural steel base for support, the sculpture was craned into place and secured to its base and copper plinth in a matter of minutes.

Reference material was a portrait which is believed to have been painted in the 19th century. This together with reading of information of his work provided me with the background feel for the character of this man.

The sculpture, 'Current', is my next exploration of the concepts in the maquette, 'Current'. Whereas 'Waters Flow' (above,) was a bas-relief displaying a lovely interplay of masses that suited its location in a niche, this 'Current' is a flow of finer masses and lines in space.

'Kiss', for me, is a lovely story of love and return.

The central element of the piece is formed of two, timber 'kissing heads'.

The story of return is in that the timbers are from demolished sections of the rebuilt wharf on which they now stand.

Their historic connection with this location was a wonderful opportunity to incorporate significant meaning in the work for my clients.

The entry to the newly opened 'Mosman Swimcentre' contains a local sporting identities' 'Wall of Fame'.

Commissioned by the developer and Council, I worked with a glass artist to create this tribute.

Using digitised images from the Mosman area I produced stylised graphics depicting sports images and flowing representations of the topography of the area.

From these images, six textured glass panels were cast and back-painted to make a colourful canvas for the engraving of the identities' names.

Suspended on stainless steel stays and hanging in pairs, the images float beautifully in the space.

Current Projects

A landscape work, 'Fluid Transport' is made of salvaged materials. A three metre beam of Walsh Bay Wharf timber will be suspended on a steel column.

I am carving the timber beam into a shape that evokes the thought of a curved form moving through air or water. It also echoes the curve of the hillside that will be its home.

Three stainless steel and glass works are being installed in a beachfront apartment development in Manly, NSW.

Come back soon for news as it breaks.
